The San Diego Special Edition - September 17, 2007
Welcome to the September 17, 2007 edition of The San Diego Special Edition. If this is your first time here, I should explain that the “Special Edition” is special because it includes the voices of so many other San Diego bloggers.
An invitation goes out once each month, asking San Diego bloggers and travel writers who write about San Diego to submit links to one of their latest articles about anything in San Diego county. Links to those articles are compiled here, and The San Diego Special Edition is posted showcasing all of our local talent.
This month we have some new contributors, as well as those who’ve been with us before. I hope you’ll give each of them a read, and will discover something you didn’t know about San Diego, as well as some blogs you might want to bookmark. Enjoy!
attractions
Let’s start out this edition with a visit to a local museum. I submit to you, Bodies…The Exhibition, posted right here at The San Diego Beat. This is a must-see exhibit for anyone who has a body, and it will only be in San Diego until November.
economy
On to the San Diego economy. San Diegans are very preoccupied with the real estate market, and the news isn’t all bad. Whether buying, selling, or watching our homes appreciate or depreciate, these are wild times for those in real estate and finance. You’ll understand more about this when you read these three posts, which address entirely different pieces of this same puzzle:
Kimberly Schmidt presents San Diego Real Estate Second Quarter Update posted at SanDiegoRealProperty.com, saying, “Check out what happened in San Diego’s real estate market during the second quarter 2007!”
At America’s Mortgage Broker, Brian Brady presents San Diego Real Estate Boom of 2015- Gotta Go Gray. In this article, Brian provides advice to local long-term real estate investors.
For those looking for a second mortgage, Dan Melson presents 100% Financing or Low Down Payment or Low Equity: PMI May Be The Only Option posted at Dan Melson’s San Diego Real Estate and Mortgage Website.
entertainment
It looks like there’s a new voice in the San Diego airwaves. Chris Carmichael presents a letter from Program Director Cliff Albert entitled Chip does a Shake and Bake at KOGO posted at SDRadio.net, saying, “Chip Franklin, San Diego’s new entry to morning talk wars on the AM dial, shares some of his insight on America’s Finest City and the wacky ride he’ll do in mornings.”
humor
Back at Arun is bringing you…Your Daily Remedy, Arun presents The “Do Not Touch” List describing his post as, “A couple of funny anecdotes from my escapades here in San Diego! Whatever you do, please do not make it on the “Do Not Touch” List!”

Saving the best for last, Melissa Weber presents The Sandman posted at Domestic Irritation. This is a profile of a local artist bringing something lovely to the community in his sand art. Melissa’s encounter with him brings him and his art to life for all of us, and makes us take another look at what each of us has to give, as well as all that we’ve been given. Thanks, Melissa!
That concludes this edition. I’d like to give heartfelt thanks to each of our contributors this month, who have made this a “Special Edition.”
You can submit your blog article to the next edition of The San Diego Special Edition using our carnival submission form. Several articles were received this month that could not be included, because they weren’t about San Diego, so just a reminder: Please make sure that your submission highlights some aspect of San Diego County. Past posts and future hosts can be found on our blog carnival index page.

This was a great Edition! I liked the Sandman too… but I really liked Arun’s “Do Not Touch” list! I was so thrilled to see a guy who is as bad as I am! Arun gets my vote!

Evelyn, If you liked Arun’s this month, you’ve got to read his entry for last month! It’s hilarious too!

You’re right, Carole. I just read that one too. He’s just crazy! I can just imagine what he’s like at parties. What a nut, but so much fun!
