Last of all, Carole Lane (yes, it’s me) presents And They’re Off…Racing Season Begins at Del Mar, here at The San Diego Beat. There are several changes at Del Mar this year, including Trakus (a new horse tracking system) and Polytrack, the new surface that will affect the handicapping at the track, but some things never change, like the Hat Contest on opening day.
