The San Diego Special Edition - February 18, 2008
Welcome to the February 18, 2008 issue of The San Diego Special Edition! On this President’s Day, let’s take a little trip around San Diego, visiting our local bloggers and learning a bit more about San Diego county.
animals
This month, Carrie T. presents Pet-Friendly Restaurants in San Diego posted at Go San Diego Card Blog, saying,
“Here’s a guide to pet friendly restaurants in San Diego so your furry friend can join you for your meal.”
arts
Next, Kevin Freitas presents Art Review - San Diego CITYBEAT - “Endeavor” posted at Art as Authority. In this post, he provides a brief snippet of his review of the current exhibition on display at Art Produce Gallery, a group show of 15 San Diego artists under the collective umbrella of Bill Pierce and Radioactive Future.
business
On to Dan Melson’s San Diego Real Estate and Mortgage Website, where Dan Melson presents Buyer’s Agency, Due Diligence, and the Illusion of Comity. Here he discusses the case of Marty Ummel, which you may have seen recently on the news. This client is suing her real estate for misrepresenting the value of the home she bought, allegedly hiding the value of comparable homes in the area. Although this sent a chill through the real estate market, this article is a must-read for anyone thinking about purchasing a home.
Debra Simpson presents 760 Media Looks To Deliver Online, A Small Business Interview an audio posting at North San Diego Business@Large. Debra describes her post as:
“An interview with Jeff Donnelley, 760 Media on marketing and pr for small business including web 2.0 and 3.0 strategies.”
economy
HELOC Account Closed is presented by Brian Brady at Mortgage Rates Report, who is offering some hope to those whose banks and mortgage companies have terminated their relationship and closed their home equity lines of credit. If you’re in this situation, he believes that relief is on the way and is planning accordingly. So should you.
music
Arun presents Celtic-American Idol posted at Arun is Bringing You…Your Daily Remedy, saying, “The Field’s Carly Hennessy is on American Idol!” His ever amusing post includes the video of Carly’s American Idol audition, giving San Diegan’s their own local contestant to pull for this season.
politics
Of course, we can’t forget politics this month, the first time San Diego really had the power to weigh in during the presidential primaries. So what was San Diego radio doing on Super-Duper Tuesday, Primary Day? SDRadio Chris says SDRadio.net had the taps on the major talk stations, including KPBS’ radio coverage, and he covered it all in media bytes, primary election day, february 5, 2008.
food
Last of all, you’re probably hungry after all of this reading (although I’m not convinced you actually have to be hungry to eat chocolate), so I’ll send you to More Good News for San Diego Chocolate Lovers, posted right here at The San Diego Beat. Bon Appetit!
