The San Diego Special Edition - April 17, 2008
Welcome to the April issue of The San Diego Special Edition! What a wonderful time to write about San Diego. You’ll see what I mean when you read these exciting articles by our local talent.
arts
This month Jamie presents Performing Arts in San Diego, where she briefly highlights some of the upcoming shows we can expect at the various theatres sprinkled around the county. Her post is at Go San Diego Card Blog.
business
Debra Simpson is back with another great audio post, presenting How Does The Chamber Benefit Solopreneurs at North San Diego Business@Large. She describes this article as an:
“Interview with Toni Padron, Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce, on how solopreneurs can benefit by chamber membership.”
Then Maria Palma presents Pricing for Success in Selling Your Home,
posted at Home Solutions San Diego Blog. Her good advice can help sellers work their way through this process a bit more easily.
As for buyers, Brian Brady recommends that we Select a Mortgage Like You Would Buy An Outfit posted at Mortgage Rates Report. His innovative approach certainly makes financing sound a lot more sexy than I remember it.
economy
With San Diego real estate prices declining, Peter Toner presents an article by Sally Kimble, entitled The perfect San Diego home deal .. posted at San Diego real estate blog - Peter Toner. Whatever the deal, if you can afford it, it’s pretty close to perfect, as long as it’s in San Diego county, isn’t it?
entertainment
“Never again find out about a cool event after-the-fact. San Diego based Eventful.com is the go to source for events before they happen.”
His article, Never Miss Another Local Event, is posted at The Best Places In San Diego!
In another article Hey Matt Vasgersian! I Got Your Back, As Well, Brian Brady notes,
“Matt Vasgersian, the Padres broadcaster, took a stand today.”
Brian takes a stand as well, and you can read about it at World Wide Wealth Advisors.
family
This month, we welcome a new San Diego blogger, T. Dalia, as she presents Time for a Change posted at Daily Dalia. She describes her blog as “Enlightenment with a hint of Sarcasm.” That sounds about right.
human interest
We welcome back Arun, who brings us more of his latest antics at Rowdy Ropin’ Rodeo posted at Arun is Bringing You…Your Daily Remedy. He says,
“Who knew the Lakeside Rodeo could be so fun!?!”
Well, as long as Arun is there, I have the feeling there’s always some fun.
other
Dan Melson presents a humorous listing of a very special property, Today’s Turkey, at Dan Melson’s San Diego Real Estate and Mortgage Website.
In a similar vein, Carol Hian presents If A House Could Talk posted at Redfin: San Diego Sweet Digs. Now I know what real estate people do in a slow market -converse with their houses!
politics
Patty and Frank at OB Rag present Nearly 1000 San Diegans Rally & March Against the Iraq War, recounting the peace rally and march that took place in City Heights on the 15th of March. Pictured to the left is Gore Vidal, who was one of the speakers at this exciting and important event. Demonstrations like these have been growing throughout the county.

Jeff Dowler takes us for a tour of Carlsbad, California and Historic Route 101 - The Coast Highway posted at active rain. Along with some great information and photos, he’s included videos, so that we can travel down the highway right along with him.
Susan Johnston presents Things to Do in San Diego in the Spring, highlighting some local events. It’s posted at Go San Diego Card Blog.
sports
Geoff Young’s article at Ducksnorts is entitled Everything in Its Right Place, which he describes as,
“Coverage of Padres Opening Night game against the Astros at Petco Park.”
Having Geoff tell us about it is almost like being there - with an baseball expert and Padres historian!
san diego bloggers
My contribution for this month is San Diego Blogger MeetUps, from right here at The San Diego Traveler. I’ve been fortunate to meet many of this month’s contributing writers as well as other San Diego bloggers at the monthly meetups, and Wow! What an impressive, diverse, and talented group! (They’re fun too!) If you’re a San Diego blogger, I hope you’ll participate in the next monthly issue of The San Diego Special Edition, and maybe I’ll see you at a MeetUp too.
That concludes this edition. You may have noticed that a couple of our bloggers submitted more than one article this month. This is perfectly acceptable, as long as each post they submit is from a separate blog. If you write more than one blog with articles about San Diego county, feel free to submit a post from each.
You can submit your blog article to the next edition of The San Diego Special Edition using our carnival submission form. Past posts and future hosts can be found on our blog carnival index page.
