The Food and Water Bowl XVI
This weekend, the Cat Fanciers Association brings the Superbowl of Cat Shows to San Diego. Watch as some of the nation’s finest cats vie for top honors at this year’s "Food & Water Bowl" at the Del Mar Fairgrounds.
Up to 450 exotic cats representing 41 different breeds are expected to participate, and the cat agility competition will be a highlight of the show.
Household cats will also be competing for "Best Household Pet" based on ‘purrsonality’, health and beauty (but only those registered by 1/21/08).
With concern for any kitty displaced by natural disasters such as the fires or Hurricane Katrina or by personal life changing problems that cause beloved pets to end up in shelters, the show will have a special adoption outreach for felines who need a home. Many local rescue organizations will have an opportunity to help cats find homes by giving them space at the show for adoptable shelter cats.
There will be educational presentations ranging from care and grooming of cats to presentations of the various breeds.
The show hall will also provide a swap meet atmosphere for purchasing cat related items offered by specialty merchandisers situated throughout the show hall. There will be hundreds of items for cat lovers, ranging from gift novelties such as cat decorated t-shirts, personalized food and water bowls and exquisite hand-crafted cat theme jewelry. Practical products for cat owners may also include custom made cat poles or "trees," gourmet cat food, wonderful cat toys and an extravaganza of health and beauty care products.
