Take a Tour of the Olympic Training Center

Evening View of Dining Hall, Olympic Training Center, Chula Vista, CaliforniaThe U.S. Olympic Training Center (aka ARCO Training Center) in Chula Vista has been host to many of the top U.S. athletes preparing for Beijing. This year-round, warm-weather facility has venues for the sports of track and field, canoe/kayak, cycling (including BMX), field hockey, soccer, archery and rowing.

Joining Olympic Training Centers in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Lake Placid, New York, the Chula Vista site has the largest permanent archery range in North America; an artificial all-weather field hockey surface; four soccer fields; a 15,000 square-foot canoe/kayak and rowing boat house; four tennis courts; a 400-meter track and six acres for field events; a cycling Pathway at Olympic Training Center, Chula Vista, Californiacriterion course; and the BMX track is the only permanent super-cross structure in the nation. An aquatic complex and a gymnasium are among the future facilities planned.

Better yet, come to see the Olympic Training Center in person. The Olympic Training Center is located at 2800 Olympic Parkway in Chula Vista. To visit the training center, take I-805 to the Olympic Parkway exit. Travel eight miles east to the Copley Visitors Center.

The Copley Visitor Center is open to the public 10am-5pm all week. Free tours are offered Tuesday through Saturday at 1:30pm; call for a reservation at (619) 656-1500.
