Seventies new wave band DEVO appeared last night on the infield of the Del Mar Race Track, and they rocked the place!

Although not quite as hyper as in their heyday, DEVO sounded just as good, and were every bit as entertaining.
The concert started with an instructive film on dressing for a DEVO concert – very helpful. I went to the Del Mar Races yesterday. Were you there? If so, you may have seen me. I was in a little red strapless sundress, with a matching red hat. If you’re one of the many men (or the one woman) who sang “Lady in Red” to me as I walked by, thanks! If you’re one of the men who handed me their phone number, I thank you too. You all made my day!

And they’re off! This Wednesday is opening day at Del Mar, and you know what that means…The Truly Fabulous Hats Contest!
Pick out your wildest bonnet and prepare to be judged on your creativity and style. There are four hat categories:
1) Best Racing Theme2) Funniest or Most Outrageous3) Most Glamorous4) Best Flowers/All Others
You really can’t be too creative or outrageous for this event. The wilder, the better.
