Celebrate the Day of the Dead

Celebrate the Day of the Dead

Dia de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, is a Mexican holiday in which families and friends gather to remember loved ones who have passed on. It’s commemorated with decorated altars, sugar skulls, prayers and marigolds, and can also include food, drinks, large festivals with music and dancing, or visits to the grave sites of loved ones.
On Saturday (October 25), Cafe Sevilla will celebrate Dia de los Muertos with themed dancers, mojitos and sangria drink specials, and a Pre-Halloween party.
Oceanside’s 8th annual Dia de los Muertos Festival will take place on Sunday, November 2. Highlighting this large community celebration …read more

The first Craft Mafia was founded in 2003 by nine crafty businesswomen in Austin, Texas. According to their website:

Celebrate our Samoan Brothers and Sisters

Celebrate our Samoan Brothers and Sisters

Did you know that Oceanside is home to one of the largest Samoan populations in the United States? It makes sense then that the Samoan Cultural Celebration would be centered here in our North County, doesn’t it?
The Samoan Cultural Celebration is a week-long faith-based sports and family event that has traditionally coincided with the 4th of July, but this year was pushed back a few days at the request of the City of Oceanside. The festival  started yesterday (July 6) with an Opening Prayer Service at Melba Bishop Recreation Center.
The celebration will continue today with a softball tournament at …read more
