Operation Thin Mint Sendoff

Each year, Girl Scouts sell cookies to raise money to fund their troops and councils. Since 2002, they have also collected donations for Operation Thin Mint during their cookie sales.
Operation Thin Mint is a nationwide Girl Scouts of America effort, originally spearheaded for the Navy by the Girls Scouts from the San Diego-Imperial Council in 2002. Since that time, San Diego-Imperial Council has sent 1,086,157 boxes of cookies to the troops, and the Operation Thin Mint effort has spread nationwide.

Tour of Fort Rosecrans

This weekend, you’ll have the opportunity to visit one of San Diego’s most private military bases, and to view some of its most historic buildings. Among the highlights will be the 1904-1905 Colonial Revival Officers Quarters and Bachelor Enlisted Quarters, the 1919 U.S. Navy Argonaut Hall, the 1915 U.S. Army Battery White, the 1898 Battery Wilkeson and several other sites on the Point Loma Sub base. This unique tour will include an exceedingly rare walk-through of one of the Senior Officer’s Quarters.
