Stickball West Coast Invitational
Watch the streets of Little Italy come alive this weekend (8/30-9/1), with the good ol’ American (East Coast) past-time Stickball! Every year local teams come together to play for the right to call themselves the king of the block. This year’s tournament is an invitational for teams from New York and Puerto Rico to attend.
Stickball emulates baseball, but is played in the street. Buildings, curbs, parking meters, signs and balconies are all playable in fair territory. Bronx rules are applied; no gloves allowed, the batter pitches to himself, and he gets one swing of the stick to hit the rubber …read more
