<p>Travel back in time to visit merry olde England during the reign of Elizabeth the First. See Her Royal Highness, along with Her Royal Court as they <a href="http://www.thesandiegotraveler.com/files/2008/04/renaissance-pleasure-faire4.jpg"><img style="border-right: 0px; border-top: 0px; border-left: 0px; border-bottom: 0px" height="206" alt="Renaissance-Pleasure-Faire4; Photo by Barry J. <p>Enjoy presentations of several plays of Will Shakespeare. See battle pageants, music in the streets, jugglers and hundreds of costumed villagers as they bring the Renaissance to life before your eyes and ears.</p>
<p><span id="more-1817"></span></p>
<p><img style="border-right: 0px; border-top: 0px; border-left: 0px; border-bottom: 0px" height="171" alt="Renaissance-Pleasure-Faire; Photo by Barry J. Wang" src="http://www.thesandiegotraveler.com/files/2008/04/renaissance-pleasure-faire-thumb.jpg" width="244" align="left" border="0">Dine on tasty foods (like huge turkey legs), fine wines and strong ales.</p>
<p>Stroll through the merchant&#8217;s market,&nbsp; shopping through over fifty booths for treasures and rare finds.</p>
<p>If you&#8217;ve never been to a Renaissance Faire, be prepared to interact with the actors who live as characters of the period <a href="http://www.thesandiegotraveler.com/files/2008/04/renaissance-pleasure-faire2.jpg"><img style="border-right: 0px; border-top: 0px; border-left: 0px; border-bottom: 0px" height="164" alt="Renaissance-Pleasure-Faire2; Photo by Barry J. Wang" src="http://www.thesandiegotraveler.com/files/2008/04/renaissance-pleasure-faire2-thumb.jpg" width="244" align="right" border="0"></a>for these two weeks each year. </p>
<p>You can come in costume, or dress casually, according to the weather. Bring a camera, but don&#8217;t expect the villagers to understand what you&#8217;re doing with it. (The camera hasn&#8217;t yet been invented!) Be prepared for a little escapism and a lot of fun.</p>
<p>The Renaissance Faire is a great outing for the whole family.</p>
