Take a Tour of the Omni Hotel

Take a Tour of the Omni Hotel

The Omni San Diego Hotel (opened in 2004) is located adjacent to Petco Park, which is just across the street from the San Diego Convention Center. One of the things that makes this hotel completely unique is that it is connected to Petco Park by a skybridge. In fact, it’s the only hotel to directly link to a major league facility in the U.S. If you’re a …read more

Ballpark Village Hotel Plans Scrapped

Ballpark Village Hotel Plans Scrapped

Scrapbook Expo at the Convention Center

Scrapbook Expo at the Convention Center

If you’ve never been to a Scrapbook Expo, it’s a much bigger event than you probably would imagine.
There are dozens of vendors selling thousands of scrapbooking and card-making products, sell-out 1-2 hour workshops, all-day and evening cropping, and lots of make-and-take opportunities.

Cropping events are scrapbooking parties where people scrapbook next to each other while contests or raffles are held, games may be played, and my favorite part is checking out everyone else’s artwork. Crops will be held throughout the expo:
1.  Friday All Day Crop & Shop (8:00am – 11:30pm)
$40 per person (Reserve a Table for an additional $20 if …read more

Kiko and Unicow Coming to Comic-Con

Kiko and Unicow Coming to Comic-Con

If you’re familiar with the Gorgeous Tiny Chicken Machine Show, then I’m sure you know the host, Kiko, and of course, Unicow. They’ll both be appearing at Comic-Con this year!

If you don’t know these wacky characters, you can go to GorgeousTiny.com to watch the latest episode or learn more about these strange and wonderful creatures. They should fit right in with the Comic-Con crowd, who truly appreciate and pay homage to the wild, weird and wacky.

What a contrast of styles and subjects! Many thanks to the talented sculptors and photographers who captured their masterpieces.
Of course, this is just a tiny sampling of the variety of public sculptures you’ll find around the county. Do you have a favorite? If so, send us a photo.
