San Diegans Lost in Iraq War Mourned

Today marks five years of war, with no end in sight.
Nearly 4,000 Americans have died in the war in Iraq.  Three-hundred, thirty of them were from Camp Pendleton in Oceanside.  Another ten from Miramar Marine Corps Air Station.
Today San Diegans mourn these local heroes, as well as other friends and family members now gone.
The North County Times reports that some 11,000 Camp Pendleton and Miramar troops remain in Iraq today.
Demonstrations have been held around the county for months and years protesting the war and/or supporting the troops. These are not mutually exclusive principles.
