Rock’n at the Marathon

by Carole A. Lane on June 2nd, 2007

Rock 'n' Roll Marathon Map\When the 10th Annual takes to the streets at 6:30 tomorrow morning, will be there to cheer the 20,000 runners on and rock the crowd!

All along the 26.2 mile marathon route from Balboa Park to the Marine Corps Recruit Depot, you’ll find bands assigned to specific locations and time slots.  Of course, it wouldn’t be a Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon without the   running, stopping to perform along the way.  The music is every bit as much a part of this event as the athletes.

(Click on the map to see both the route and the band locations.)

Seal, photo courtesy marathon site After the race, enjoy more music at the post-race show.  At 6 p.m., the gates of will open for a free concert for the runners and volunteers.  (All others will pay $25 for admission.)  will perform at 6:30, followed by the awards ceremony at 7:20.  The day of rock will finish with a performance by  beginning at 8 p.m.

Rock on, San Diego!
