More Thanks for the Fire Fighters
This morning, fire fighters from the City of Vista Fire Department came to Vista Academy of Visual and Performing Arts to accept thanks from the students, who greeted them with applause, screams and a great deal of excited jumping up and down.
Several wonderful, touching letters were read by students of various grade levels, as a sampling of the gratitude felt by students throughout the school and the community at large.
Captain Bowden thanked the students for their letters, and also thanked those who have come by the station to express their gratitude. He said that they read the letters and cards and appreciate them, and he hopes that some of the students will become fire fighters in the future.
Other schools and organizations throughout the county have similar events and tributes planned. The latest wildfires remind us of the tireless efforts of our local heroes. We’re so fortunate to have such wonderful role models for our children (not to mention our adults) to look up to.
