Holiday Zombie Walk?

by Carole A. Lane on December 9th, 2007

zombiewalksd That’s right - a Zombie Walk! If you’re not doing anything particularly festive on December 22 (and what could be more festive than frolicking among the undead?), head downtown in your best zombie makeup and costume, and participate in the next zombie walk! (Unless you are, in fact, a zombie - then come as you are!)

Zombie walks have been taking place around the world since 2001. If you haven’t seen one, go to YouTube and type in “zombie walk” and you’ll get a good idea of what you’ve been missing.

Zombie walks made it to San Diego in June, and have been building ever since. They’ve roamed Balboa Park and Comic-Con this year, and even made it to the front page of the Union Tribune. Now it’s your turn to join in this memorable event!

When

Saturday, December 22.  Meet exactly at 6pm (no earlier, please). Walk exactly at 6:15 (not a minute later). [Apparently zombies are very punctual.] As an added bonus, the first 20 zombies to show up in themed costume will receive a special holiday zombie walk goodiebag!

Where

Meet on the southeastern corner of 5th Avenue & L Street, next to the Convention Center Trolley Station.

Theme

Zombies, of course, but not just any zombies. They’d like all zombies to be wearing something of holiday significance… whether it’s a Santa hat, reindeer antler headband, elf ears, a cheesy snowman sweater with blood all over it, zombie nativity characters, or whatever you can think of. Be creative! If someone would like to be zombie Santa… that would be awesome.

If costumes aren’t really your thing, sign up to be a victim!
