Happy Birthday, Tori!

Happy 34th Birthday,

What, Tori Spelling, a local?  Yes, she and husband, Dean McDermott recently purchased a bed and breakfast,   in Fallbrook, where they are shooting the new reality series, ”,” which premiered on Oxygen in Tori & Dean: Inn LoveMarch .  You can watch videos on , or go to  to communicate with the star.  (Oxygen has just picked up the series for a second season.)

Tori often gets a pretty bad rap in the press, and it’s easy to poke fun at her.  She did grow up richer than just about anyone in the 90210universe, and her father, Aaron Spelling, did create a character for her (Donna) in one of the shows he created (”90210″), thereby handing her an acting career.

Tori has actually earned 44 acting credits (), not including her starring role in “So NoTORIous,” a sitcom partly based on her own life, running last year on VH1.

The House of Yes If you haven’t yet become a Tori fan, I can recommend a film in which she was really very good.  Really!  It’s an indie, and the plot is totally twisted (which is probably why I enjoyed it so much); a very dark comedy.  Tori plays Lesly, the fiance of one of the main characters, and I honestly don’t think anyone could have done it better.  The film is “.”  If you like indies, I heartily recommend it.  (It stars the queen of the indies, Parker Posey, so that alone is worth a viewing.)

I’ve seen lots of really vicious attacks on Tori online, often claiming she stole her husband from his first wife.  I’ve also seen much fan mail, calling her a comedic genius.  Whether you love her or hate her,  she’s a San Diegan now, and a new mama too, so let’s just show her our hospitality and say:

Welcome to San Diego, Tori, and Happy Birthday!

I have never been a Tori fan but I’m curious about the B&B and being the foodie that I am, I’m dying to find out what kind of goodies they actually serve there. Do post if you are able to check it out.

P.S. Happy Mother’s day to you (or your mom)!

I was very curious about the B&B too, but I don’t have access to the Oxygen network (I opted for DIY Network instead), so I didn’t think I’d get to watch the show.

Guess what! If you go to http://www.oxygen.com/innlove/, you can watch episode after episode filmed at the B&B. There’s even one episode where they go room by room talking about what the rooms used to look like, what they changed, who did the lighting, etc.

The next time I go through Fallbrook, I’ll definitely want to get a look first-hand, but until then, the video tour is great.

Just an FYI update: ET just reported that Tori & Dean didn’t actually buy the B&B; they leased it with an option to buy.
