Global Village
The theme of this week’s Carnival of Cities is Global Village, which is certainly appropriate. The more often I read the weekly Carnival, the smaller this world feels, not to mention how much more interesting it has become.
If you’re not familiar with the concept of a Blog Carnival, Wikipedia describes it as:
similar to a magazine, in that it is dedicated to a particular topic, and is published on a regular schedule, often weekly or monthly.
In this case, we each write about our cities and submit our best article of the week to the Carnival of Cities.
Within the U.S., cities in seven states were represented with articles about food, butterflies, street people and local heroes, Easter eggs, light houses, and a city tour of Memphis.
Venturing out into the world, we’ll make a quick trip around the globe, stopping to learn about barrages and wetland ecosystems, invalidate an election, join a National Bloggers Alliance, observe Good Friday and Earth Hour, see Syd Barrett’s former house and walk with the zombies!
If you’re a blogger, why not write an article about what’s going on in your city and submit it to next week’s Carnival of Cities? It’s great fun to read, and participating guarantees that your words will be read around the world!
