Free Coaster Rides to Fun San Diego Destinations

San Diego SAN0757 -Photo by NeiTechIf you’re looking for a fun outing with the kids, why not take a ride on the train?  The Coaster is offering free train rides on Saturdays for children 12 and under through the end of April.  A maximum of two children may ride free with each paying adult.

When you get off the train, you’ll be within walking (or trolley or bus) distance from many exciting destinations.  You can go out to lunch in Little Italy or the Gaslamp, or take a walk down to the beach near the Oceanside station.

If you want more, Amtrak provides a list of destinations near each of the Coaster stations, along with trolley or bus lines when applicable.  These include a variety of museums, PETCO Park and Qualcomm Stadium, Old Town, Sea World, Del Mar Fairgrounds, LEGOLAND, and shopping centers such as Fashion Valley, Mission Valley and the Carlsbad Premium Outlets.

For these and other ideas for family outings on the Coaster, see .  Now plan some fun.
