Fallen Peace Officers Remembered

Last year, 12 officers died in the line of duty in California, including Oceanside , who died on December 20.

On Saturday, May 19, these and all other fallen peace officers will be remembered at , honoring peace officers who have died in the line of duty.  This 2.5-mile run is being held in conjunction with Peace Officers’ Memorial Day, which was actually May 15 (by proclamation of President John F. Kennedy), as well as California Peace Officers’ Memorial Day, which took place on May 2.

More than 200 officers representing local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies from throughout San Diego County are expected to participate.  The run will start at 9 a.m. at Cannon Park, located at the corner of Carlsbad Blvd. and Cannon Road, and travel along Carlsbad Blvd.
