Children Running Wild in Carlsbad!
If your kids have always wanted to run wild through the streets of Carlsbad, their time has come.
On March 31, Junior Carlsbad (the kids’ marathon) will commence with divisions for all age groups 12 years and under. This is the 18th year for this event.
Every child is a champion! The emphasis is on fun, not speed. At the North Island Credit Union Junior Carlsbad, every child is a winner and receives a Finisher’s medal, goodie bag, and official race T-shirt.
The marathon benefits Kids are Worth a Million, a fund-raising program of the Carlsbad Educational Foundation.
A pre-registration party will be held at North Island Credit Union on March 30, from 3-6 p.m.
You can register for online for $12. Free gifts will go to the first 500 entrants, courtesy of Chipotle. Special prizes and awards will also go to the top 3 boys and girls in each age group between 5 and 12 years.
Post-Race Festivities
Plan to stick around after the race for some live entertainment, free refreshments, prize drawings, and a free Health & Fitness Expo where you’ll see the latest in fitness products, running shoes, sports apparel and more.
If the rest of the family would like to get in on this fun and fit weekend, come back the next day (April 1) for the Carlsbad 5000.
