San Diegans Putting Faith into Action

Across the country, churches are closing their doors on Sunday mornings in order to serve their communities through a campaign called Faith in Action.  Parishioners at Oak Hills Church in Vista recently took up this calling.  Their motto:
BE the church!

EarthFair 2007

On April 22, the the world’s largest annual environmental fair and Earth Day celebration will take place in Balboa Park.  This is the18th annual EarthFair, with around 60,000 visitors expected to attend.

Bird Lovers Needed

The San Diego Audubon Society (SDAS) is seeking volunteers to help the California Least Tern.
On Saturday (March 31), from 9am - noon, the SDAS will kick off a two-year project to enhance the D Street Nesting Site, in the South San Diego Bay National Wildlife Refuge, in Chula Vista.

Run Like a Fool

On April 1st, you can celebrate April Fools Day by running like a fool through the streets of Carlsbad.  This is the 22nd anniversary of this event, known as the “World’s Fastest 5K Run.”

Children Running Wild in Carlsbad!

If your kids have always wanted to run wild through the streets of Carlsbad, their time has come.
On March 31, Junior Carlsbad (the kids’ marathon) will commence with divisions for all age groups 12 years and under.  This is the 18th year for this event.

The California Surf Museum is Hitting a Swell

The California Surf Museum was founded twenty-one years ago, inspired by Architect Stuart Resor’s newspaper ad, inviting anyone interested to attend a planning meeting; thirteen people participated, including George’s  Restaurant owner, Jane Schmauss, the museum’s acting director and co-founder, whom I spoke with today.

It’s Girl Scout Cookie Time in San Diego
