Carnival of Cities in Dubai
This week’s Carnival of Cities starts in Dubai for the first time, hosted at Sandier Pastures.
Each of the articles in this week’s carnival is a good read in it’s own right, but as usual, I have favorites. So, under no authority whatsoever, I’m giving the following awards:
- Best travelogue: In the Heart of Calabria: Benvenuti a Badaloto! by Sognatrice at Bleeding Espresso
- Most intriguing place: A Haunting Hotel by Beverly Robertson at Murmuring Trees
- Most fun transportation (2 winners): Madrid on Two Wheels…The Segway Tour by Liz Lewis at My year of getting published and Ride in a Piece of History - DC Ducks by Jon at the DC Traveler
- Honorable mention goes to to Alfa King at Alfa King Memories for the detailed explanation of Ramadan in Muslims in Purge, and to the equally enthralling article about Yom Kippur entitled Bicycling for Atonement by Robin at Around The Island
Of course, I recommend that you go to Sandier Pastures to read all of the articles (including mine).
If you write a blog about your city (or your travels), submit your own entry to the next edition, which will be hosted by Intelligent Travel. To see past and future Carnivals of Cities, go to Home Turf Media’s Carnival site.
If you write about San Diego, you are also invited to participate in The San Diego Special Edition, a monthly blog carnival all about San Diego.

Thanks so much! I haven’t had time to go read all the entries yet, but I definitely look forward to doing so…even more so after reading your thoughts on some of the entries :)

You’re certainly welcome, sognatrice. Yours was definitely a pillar article that I’m sure will draw people to your blog for years to come. Definitely a must-read for locals and tourists alike. Great work! (I just wish that I could visit.)

Thank you so much for the “award” highlighting my post. Someone has already come to visit and the trail led back to find you. With Halloween fast approaching, I recommend a haunting hotel experience. Now, I have to get reading.
