Are You Ready to QUASH?

by Carole A. Lane on May 27th, 2008

quash What is QUASH? It’s the Quest to Unravel Alzheimer’s Scavenger Hunt. One part physical, one part mental, all for a good cause, QUASH is an unforgettable adventure through city landmarks and hidden hotspots. As they say:

“Soak in the sights and sounds of San Diego! Register to QUASH on June 14, 2008 and remember why this city has a little bit of something for everyone.”

To participate in QUASH, gather a team of four (4) individuals, including one team captain. You and your team will complete challenges and solve puzzles in a race against the clock - and your opponents.

When you QUASH, getting from Point A to Point B is only half the challenge.

Check-in at the start area to receive your clues and begin the hunt! You and your teammates will travel by foot or public transportation from point to point, solving clues and completing the challenges that you face along the way. Some will require brain power, others will test your physical prowess (don’t worry - you don’t need to be a professional athlete), but all will require teamwork. The tasks will lead you over, under and around the city to your favorite attractions and places you’ve never been before.

And the journey isn’t just about the destination - winners have to do more than finish first. Along the way, you’ll earn points for each challenge completed. If you’re ahead of schedule, tackle some of the more difficult challenges to put your team that much closer to the top. There are even opportunities to earn bonus points ahead of time.

You’ll have two and a half hours to complete the route and rack up as many points as possible. Teams will meet back at the finish site for a post-race party, including music, food and awards.

To participate, each individual will pay a registration fee of $25 and raise a minimum of $200 to benefit the Alzheimer’s Association, the nation’s leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer care, research and support.

If you’re ready for an event that will test your brain, body and your heart, register now to QUASH.

If you can’t QUASH, perhaps you can Donate to a Participant or Volunteer. All help is appreciated.
