American Idol Auditions in San Diego
American Idol has just announced auditions for their seventh season, in seven cities across the country, beginning with San Diego!
Even if you don’t win, if you become a contestant, you could become someone’s computer wallpaper, or even their Bobble Head! (How bizarre are those?!)
To audition:
- You must be between 16 and 28 years old on July 28, 2007.
- You must be eligible to work in the U.S.
- You must come to Qualcomm Stadium between Saturday, July 28 and Monday, July 30, and receive a wristband. (I recommend going early on Saturday if you seriously want to get in.)
- You must return to Qualcomm Stadium to audition on Monday, July 30. (Auditioners will not be allowed to camp out.)
- You must be a talented singer.
Okay, I’ve added that last one, but you know they’re only going to make fun of you if you have no actual singing talent, so no crocodile tears, please.
Of course, if you’re supremely bad, on the order of William Hung, you could be featured on the next edition of ”The Worst of American Idol.”
If you can’t get to the San Diego auditions, additional dates have been set for Dallas , Omaha, Atlanta, Charleston, Miami and Philadelphia, all through the month of August.
Season 7 of American Idol will begin airing in January, 2008.

I think they skipped us this go ’round. But, I know which cities to stay away from on those weeks! Sounds like fun but only if you’re a spectator. :) American Idol sure puts a city on the map!

You’re right, Evelyn. It should be a wild time at the stadium. I don’t envy the judges, or the contestants, for that matter. It would be nice if San Diego had a hometown girl or guy to root for next season, so I wish them all luck.
