It’s Apple Season

applesOctober is the best time of year to head down to Julian, especially if you love apples.  Apple Days actually started at the end of September. They’re in full swing now, and will continue for the next month until November 15, with all kinds festivities planned for each day of the month.

Wandering around Julian’s quaint shops, restaurants and wine tasting rooms is wonderful any time of year, but during Apple Days you can also see Apple Pressing Demonstrations at the Cider Mill, Gold Panning Demonstrations at Julian Mining Company or compete in the Chili Cook-Off at Pioneer Museum Park. There are Walking, Wine, Open Studios and Cemetery Tours all offered at various times, and the Julian Pioneer Museum has a $1 Day. For a bit of active fun, go to the Harvest HoeDown at Julian Mining Company or bicycle in the Tour de Julian at Menghini Winery. Halloween won’t go unnoticed either, with the Pumpkin Patch at Julian Mining Company and the Halloween Carnival at Julian High School.

See Julian Apple Days Festival for these and other upcoming events in the Julian area, but remember – If you’re heading Julian, don’t leave town without trying their apple pie!
