The Omni San Diego Hotel (opened in 2004) is located adjacent to Petco Park, which is just across the street from the San Diego Convention Center. This is all conveniently situated right in the Gaslamp District, so visitors can walk to  restaurants and nightclubs from there, or take a short drive to Seaport Village for shopping and more restaurants.

If you can’t make it to the San Diego Zoo or Wild Animal Park, you don’t have to miss out altogether. You can visit online from wherever you are, or on the television from our local stations.

On the first and third Tuesday each month, San Diego 6 In The Morning With Marc Bailey And Lynda Martin includes a segment highlighting various animals and events at the Zoo and Wild Animal Park.
From noon to 1pm every Friday, News 8 also shows a segment from the San Diego Zoo on the noon News.

San Diego’s largest block party has been moved out of Qualcomm Stadium, out of Coors Amphitheatre, and back where it belongs – in the streets of San Diego!
Street Scene 2008 will converge upon Downtown and East Village this Friday and Saturday (September 19 and 20). With 40 bands on 4 stages, this looks a lot more like Street Scene the way we all remember it.

EveryScape Beta has just launched free virtual online tours of some of San Diego’s most famous locations, such as the San Diego Zoo, Torrey Pines Golf Course, and the Hall of Champions Sports Museum in Balboa Park, with additional destinations to be added soon.
Users can click on the arrows to “drive” through the streets and up to these landmarks, but there are plans to allow us to click again to enter these establishments, look at menus, and so on.
