The Antique Gas & Steam Engine Museum will celebrate 100 years of the Model T during their Spring 2008 Antique Engine & Tractor Show all weekend (June 21 & 22), and next weekend too (June 28 & 29).
This event will include blacksmith and wheelwright demonstrations, an antique equipment parade, vintage skills, food, music, displays of antique cars and steam engines, along with live music.

Celebrate the Summer of Sports

With the U.S. Open at Torrey Pines, and the summer Olympics coming up soon, it seems only right that the theme of this years’ San Diego County Fair is Summer of Sports. Opening today and going through July 6 (but closed June 16 & 23), fairgoers can look forward to sports exhibits, sports stars, and interactive sports activities, along with all of the usual festivities. Upcoming Juneteenth Celebrations

Juneteenth, the celebration of the emancipation of America’s last slaves (which actually took place on June 19, 1865), will be commemorated at the Oceanside Bandshell at Oceanside Municipal Pier this Saturday (June 14).
This event will include live music, arts and crafts, a food court, and health screenings. This year’s celebration has been scaled back in preparation for next year’s 100th Anniversary of the NAACP.
Another Juneteenth Celebration will take place simultaneously at Market Creek Plaza in San Diego. This event features African drumming and dancing, gospel performances, live bands, a step show, a hip hop and freestyle dance battle, kids activities, …read more
