Come to the Land of Adventure!
Land of Adventure, a brand new area for children and their parents to explore at LEGOLAND® California, will open just in time for spring break. Land of Adventure takes guests on an expedition into ancient temple ruins to discover four new attractions:
- Lost Kingdom Adventure – explorers in all-terrain roadsters, armed with laser blasters, go on a journey through ancient temple ruins.
- Cargo Ace – children become pilots boarding mini-prop planes.
- Beetle Bounce – children are elevated nearly 15 feet into the air.
- Pharaoh’s Revenge – families launch thousands of foam balls in an oasis of fun.
The Grand Opening Ceremony will take place on Monday, March 10 at 10:30am. There you’ll see the adventurous and most-popular LEGO® mini-figure Johnny Thunder come to life as he escorts exotic Egyptian guests to the grand opening. President and General Manager of LEGOLAND California, John Jakobsen and Master Model Designer, Bill Vollbrecht will join live camels, a snake charmer, Egyptian dancers and performers for the ceremony.
With more than 75 new models utilizing nearly half a million LEGO bricks, it was no small feat to bring Land of Adventure to life. Models range from a small diamond ring in the treasure room of Lost Kingdom Adventure made of just 19 bricks to the 16-foot-tall Pharaoh model made of more than 300,000 standing guard over the entire area. Other new LEGO models include a life-size camel and his handler, a female pilot getting her lunch snatched by monkeys and two giant scarab beetles that sit atop Cargo Ace with a wing span of four feet.
There’s no end to the creativity at LEGOLAND®, and there are more developments expected this summer, so you might want to invest in an annual pass to take part in all of the upcoming fun.
