Video Love Letter to Our Fire Fighting Heroes

Video Love Letter to Our Fire Fighting Heroes

My best friend, Melissa, sent this video to me today, and I knew this was one to share with our local heroes, as well as those who came from other cities, towns and states to help fight the fires.

I’d like to express my sincere gratitude to all who are helping San Diego in these difficult times, but this video of artist Michael Israel says it so much more eloquently.

Firestorm 2007 Update

According to Mayor Sanders, San Diego is now moving from emergency to recovery. All areas of the City of San Diego have been reopened for residents to return to their homes (if they’re still habitable).

It will serve residents of Escondido, Poway, Rancho Santa Fe, Rancho Bernardo and other nearby areas.

The President and Governor Visit San Diego County

The President and Governor Visit San Diego County

Today, President Bush and Governor Schwarzenegger visited San Diego County, and stayed for a press conference at Kit Carson park in Escondido. After being introduced by Governor Schwarzenegger, the President said,
“…I appreciate the leadership of Governor Schwarzenegger. I said earlier when we were at the neighborhood, there’s no hill he’s not willing to charge, no problem he’s not willing to solve. And we’ve got a problem out here, and I appreciate his leadership. It makes a significant difference when you have somebody in the statehouse willing to take the lead. …”
Did that strike anyone else as surreal?

How You Can Help San Diego’s Fire Victims

How You Can Help San Diego’s Fire Victims

If there is any upside to the story of San Diego’s Firestorm 2007, it’s definitely the way San Diegans are coming together to help the victims of the fires.

Evacuees at Qualcomm Stadium have received food (including kosher food) and beds, toiletries and medical care, but many other services have also been provided, including Internet access, free charging for cell phones, massage therapy, yoga, and toys and art projects for kids. Food and care has …read more
