Behind the Scenes of One Missed Call

Edward Burns and Shannyn Sossamon came to Comic-Con this year to promote their new thriller, One Missed Call. This story was originally based on a novel  and told in a Japanese film, Chakushin ari, which later had a sequel Chakushin ari 2. Neither Sossamon nor Burns have seen these films, because their director, Eric Valette, asked them not to, so […]

Homespun Hawaii Host to Global Carnival

This week’s Carnival of Cities starts in lovely Hawaii with our host, Evelyn in Homespun Honolulu. Evelyn’s article, “Shall We Talk About the Weather?”  leaves me very worried about our good friend in the path of Hurricane Flossie. Be careful, Evelyn, and be sure to post an update letting us know you’re okay.

This Weekend in San Diego County (August 11-12)

It looks like a less eventful weekend in San Diego County, but that doesn’t mean that there’s nothing to do. In addition to the usual attractions (SeaWorld, San Diego Zoo, Wild Animal Park, LegoLand, Balboa Park, Old Town, the beach), the State Champion Solana Beach Little League will face off against Chandler, Arizona on Saturday night, and the […]

Behind the Scenes of Saw IV

When director Darren Lynn Bousman and producer Mark Burg came to San Diego’s Comic-Con this year, they intended to show the first five minutes of Saw IV. Unfortunately, the powers that be at the -Con said no; it was simply too intense.
