Is San Diego Ready for Another SuperHero?
Tonight, the second season of Who Wants to Be a SuperHero? will premiere on the Sci Fi channel. Before you get attached to a new set of SuperHeroes, how about taking a moment to remember some of the previous season’s SuperHeroes who took the time to come and see us in San Diego over the weekend. The final three:
Major Victory
a.k.a. Chris Watters, is a 38-year-old San Francisco deejay who used to be a male exotic dancer, “which took a toll on my relationship with my daughter.”
-
-
Fat Momma
a.k.a. Nell Wilson, a 43-year-old single mother who works at home and draws her powers from doughnuts. (Diet soda, she claims, weakens her powers.) She says she’s here to show the world that fat people can do anything thin people can.
-
and last year’s winner of SuperHero, Feedback
a.k.a. actor Matthew Atherton. While working on a bio-organic computer system using organic computing, software engineer Matthew Atherton is caught in a large explosion that bombards his body with hi-tech cellular shrapnel. Atherton discovers that his body is generating a feedback field that shuts down nearby electronic equipment. Atherton creates a dampening suit that keeps the field in check.
Atherton also discovers that by playing video games, he can absorb some attributes of the game. For example, if Feedback plays Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, he temporarily gains the ability to run along walls and do acrobatics, and perhaps rewind time. By using an online community called “Tech Support”, Feedback gains enough knowledge to use the limited powers wisely. Each time Atherton uses a power, he loses some of his memory.
And of course, we can’t forget the executive producer and host of the show, industry legend, Stan Lee.
Thanks for visiting, SuperHeroes, and for keeping our streets safe.
