Burlesque Meets Art Class in San Diego

On Saturday, July 28, artist and burlesque dancer, Molly Crabapple, will bring Dr. Sketchy’s to the Bluefoot Bar & Lounge. What is Dr. Sketchy’s? It’s a wild and wacky anti-art class where you can come Zoetica Ebband draw a glamorous burlesque performer, while competing in kooky drawing contests and drinking.

This party started in New York in 2005, and has become a movement, traveling to Hollywood, London, Tokyo, Rome and Melbourne! It comes to San Diego, coinciding with Comic-Con International. See the photo blog of some of the previous Dr. Sketchy’s sessions.

The model for this San Diego event will be the beautiful artist Zoetica Ebb, pictured above. It’s being billed as a Comic-Con Afterparty, to be hosted by Molly Crabapple and Lily Jackson at 7:45-9:45 p.m. on Saturday night. A $5 donation is suggested with Comic-Con weekend pass; $10 without. For more information call 619/756-7891 or see the ad on myspace.

Hands down, Zoetica is one of the most talented and compelling model/artists I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting and working with. The woman’s got substance!
Her withering look is second to none.

After looking through some of her work, I’ll have to agree with you Drew. This sounds like a great evening, and I hope it’s repeated here in San Diego often.
