Carnival of Cities in New Zealand
For this week’s virtual vacation, the Carnival of Cities has traveled all the way to Christchurch, New Zealand, where Liz Lewis is hosting our tour.
The theme this week is Here, There and Everywhere, so… (drum roll please)…under no authority whatsoever, I award the prize for Most Thematic to Jul at This non-American Life, whose article, “When the great art galleries of the world come to Switzerland,” captures an exhibition from approximately 300 galleries around the world.
The award for The Place I’d Most Like to Visit This Week goes to Mommy Poppins at Mommy Poppins—Get more out of NYC for her article “Best Biking for Kids on Bucolic Governor’s Island.” It sounds absolutely lovely.
I really enjoyed the rest of the articles this week, and found them more interesting and amusing than any other week’s city carnival so far. I recommend that you go to Christchurch Tour Guide to read the articles (including mine).
