Another City Carnival – Summer is Festival Season!
The Carnival of Cities is being hosted by Where this week.
In no official capacity whatsoever, I’m giving this week’s award for the Most Thematic entry to Mary Jo of The Seattle Traveler for her article, “A Month of Local Festival & Fairs: June.”
The award for Place I’d Most Like to Visit this week goes to Jul at This Non-American Life for the article “Gatlinburg: trapping tourists in style.”
Of course, I encourage you to go to the carnival to read All of the worthy entries (including mine). If you write a blog about your city (or your travels), submit your own entry to the next edition, which will be hosted by Argentina’s Travel Guide. To see past and future Carnivals of Cities, go to Home Turf Media’s Carnival site.

Wow, I can’t believe I actually made someone want to visit Gatlinburg!
You did it, Jul!
Gatlinburg sounds like a great place to wander around – all kinds of silly fun. I KNOW my kids would love the Guinness Book and Ripley’s museums. Of course, we’d have to take a side trip to Dollywood, as long as we’re there.
Thanks for sharing this kitschy town with the rest of us.
