Free Trees for San Diegans

If you live in San Diego County, you’re eligible to receive up to five full-sized, 15-gallon nursery-quality trees - for free!
The Cool Communities Shade Tree Program is an initiative of the San Diego Regional Energy Office and People for Trees, who have teamed up to give away up to 14,000 trees to households throughout San Diego County.

San Diego Latino Film Festival

The 14th Annual San Diego Latino Film Festival started this week, with the Thursday night Red Carpet premiere of Argentina’s hit comedy “Rolling Family“ or “Familia Rodante,” followed by a party at Luna Lounge.
This is Southern California’s longest running and most prestigious Latino film festival, expecting to draw over 20,000 guests this year.

San Diego is Going to War - Civil War

That’s right, the civil war is starting on Saturday, but don’t worry, it will be over by Sunday.
The bi-annual Civil War Reenactment is again being held at the Antique Gas & Steam Engine Museum (AGSEM) in Vista.  This is the fifth year for this popular event, which is held in March and October.

On Tuesday, Mayor Mickey Cafagna delivered Poway’s first televised State of the City address, speaking before nearly 100 residents at the City Council meeting held at City Hall.
